The Memorial is a free, public space that is open throughout the year except when the Loire is in flood.

Visiting Times

The Memorial is free and open daily – no reservations are required :
It is open from 9 am to 6 pm from September 16 to May 14, and from 9 am to 8 pm from May 15 to September 15.
Final entrance to the meditative passage is one half-hour before closing.

An urban itinerary between history and memory

We advise following the itinerary from the Nantes History Museum to the Memorial to the Abolition of Slavery. While the Memorial contributes to remembrance, the museum offers the keys to an understanding of the past of the slave trade, which is central to the permanent exhibit.
These two sites are symbolically connected by an urban itinerary containing 11 information panels (approximately 1 hour).
