It resulted in the birth of the Republic of Haiti on January 1, 1804.<br \/>\nThe ceremony of the National Day of Remembrance of the Slave Trade, Slavery and the Abolition of Both is a homage to the Republic of Haiti.<br \/>\nThis event is also an opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the UNESCO\u2019s Slave Route Project.
